Aylesbury Estate Oral Histories Presentation
This piece is a presentation that responded to a brief asking us to create a promotional campaign for an oral histories collection being conducted for residents of London's Aylesbury estate. This was the second stage of the task and we were paired up with other class members. Our approach to this was to target a demographic who have not previously been represented in the Aylesbury oral histories collection.
We targeted children of the Surrey Square school, which is on the estate. I had close contact with the school in my research and through this we came up with the idea introducing a class activity based on writing stories of their area, giving them a taste of the oral histories process. Their input would then be published on an interactive online map. We are now working on designing an activity pack as well as the website. This is a presentation of our research and stages of idea generation.
